On this holiday we will be constantly at an altitude of more than 3500m. Therefore, it is essential that you acclimatize well in order to make the best of the week. You will be advised by the UFO guide to rest and keep your body hydrated as much as possible on the first day of arrival. Your oxygen levels will be monitored from time to time to check on the level of acclimatization. There is fair bit of travelling to be done every day, and we would encourage you to do a bit of walking/running and breathing exercises to enjoy this trek. A fair level of fitness is always helpful.

We will make an early start after tea and breakfast to catch the morning prayers at Thiksey Monastery. We then leave for Nubra Valley by crossing and making a quick pit stop the high motorable pass of Khardung La( As it is only your second day, we would not advise a stop of more than 15-20 minutes on the pass). We reach Nubra Valley late afternoon and check in our hotel/resort for Lunch. The evening can be spent walking the sand dunes, exploring Diskit Monastery and Hundar village.
After tea and breakfast, we set out for the high altitude lake of Pangong Tso. The stunning drive with the changing landscape is a thrill to experience. We reach the lake by late afternoon and you will have the evening at leisure to explore the lake shore.
After a leisurely breakfast, we head back towards Leh crossing another high pass Chang la. After checking into our hotel in Leh, we head to Shey after lunch for rock climbing and rappelling.
Option: If you do not want to do rock climbing and rappelling, then we can stop at Sindhu Ghat and Shey Palace while on our way back to Leh.
After a late breakfast, we will leave for a 2 hour drive to Chilling along the River Indus. We will stop at the confluence at Nimoo Village for a while. We reach our campsite for the day and get ourselves comfortable in the tents. There are numerous trails near the campsites the guide will then take you for a hike after lunch in the nearby trails. We come back to camp by tea time and evening will be at leisure in the camp.
Another beautiful day and we get ready for rafting on Zanskar river. Expert guides will take you on the river as you raft for two hours while all the your luggage will be packed in the car waiting for them at the confluence. After lunch, we then head to Alchi Monastery. After we have explored the monastery, we move ahead to reach our destination Leh. On the way we can stop at Magnetic Hill and reach Leh by evening. Before we check into our hotel we will visit the Shanti Stupa to get a glorious view of the Leh valley at sunset.
After an early breakfast we will be transferred by private vehicle to the airport. If you want to extend your stay to visit Tso Moriri and Tso kar please contact our staff.
I joined UFO on their twin peaks initiative in Ladakh climbing Stok Kangri (6150m) & Golep Kangri (5900m). The experience could not have been better curated. From the start of the trip till the very end, everything was well organised to meet the best quality standards. The team is beautifully welcoming and cheerful!
Fantastic 2 days spent in Doon Valley, with some great camping experience, views of the Himalayas.. UFO Team was extremely warm, helpful and professional. This was our daughter's (who is 9 years old) first camping experience, she rated this one of her best trips.
UFO are great partners when seeking adventure. I did an expedition to Mentok Kangri (6210m) and Kang Yatse II (6250m) in Ladakh, day hike to the double living root bridge in Cherrapunji, Meghalaya and also a relaxed camping experience in Hemis national park in Ladakh. UFO are very hospitable in accommodating their guests specially at high altitudes.
